The owner of Stratos07, Josef Straka, was a Hangliding pioneer in Czechoslovakia. In 1975 he began to build hangliders and harnesses for Czech pilots. Pilots flew without emergency parachutes at first, but later used military surplus parachutes, which they modified for hangliding use. Later, he became the head coach of the Czechoslovakian National Hangliding team and was instrumental in achieving the title of a World Champion for Czechoslovakia.

After the fall of the Soviet Union and the Velvet Revolution in Czechoslovakia, Josef Straka began production of parachutes, propellers and Ultralights. He launched Stratos07 in 1996 and manufactures all plane ballistic parachutes for Junkers-Profly and Bostik Industries,LLC. Some milestones include the certification of system Magnum 450 SSP under the DULV German certification in 1999 with 500kg and 260km/hr. It proved to be the unsurpassed all-plane parachute of the time. Since then, Stratos07 introduced the famous bestseller Magnum 501 certified for speeds of up to 300km/hr, M450 S-LSA and M601 S-LSA system for the US market and many other variants. Other Magnum systems are capable of supporting weights of well over 2000kg and speeds exceeding 300km/hr.

Stratos07 is the only company offering nine different sizes of rockets for their systems. No other manufacturer has the ballistic expertise that we do. We are able to tune and control the burn rate for any application through our experience and research. Every rocket we supply delivers superb and consistent performance.

Stratos07 also manufactures special parachute equipment, custom parachutes for special use, custom airdrop containers, etc. We continue to provide reserves for hangliding and paragliding pilots.

Stratos07 is also involved in the manufacturing of ballistic armor for law enforcement personnel and their aircraft. Stratos07 has won several contracts from various governments including Slovakia and other EU members.

Stratos07 supplies riot protection gear to various countries including the French police. All of this gear has been developed in house.
